On the National Historic Register as the Thomas Avery House, this Greek Revival farmhouse features mid-19th century life onward through the story of the Avery, Smith & Harris families. Cape Verdean Santiago Society Inc

In 1939, immigrants from Cape Verde came to create the Santiago Society, an ethnic social club situated in Norwich. The structure was lost to fire in 2006 and in 2022, the Society was resurrected. Our mission is to celebrate cultural diversity.

The mountain dulcimer is an original American Folk instrument created by the Scots and Irish settled in Appalachia. It is a VERY easy instrument to learn how to play. Dulcimers provided for participants for this 90 minute workshop.

Founded in 1982, the Connecticut Early Music Society presents concerts and an annual festival with the use of historically appropriate instruments. The term “early music” refers to a repertory encompassing medieval, Renaissance, Baroque, and early Classical music.
