Connecticut Early Music Society

Connecticut Early Music Society promotes the knowledge and appreciation of early music performed in historically appropriate style. Founded in 1982, the Connecticut Early Music Society presents concerts and an annual festival with the use of historically appropriate instruments. The term “early music” refers to a repertory encompassing medieval, Renaissance, Baroque, and early Classical music.

An educational non-profit organization dedicated to improving the art and craft of original music. As one of the largest songwriter groups in the US., we combine arts, education and community outreach, welcoming all styles of music, all levels of experience, and all types of aspirations.

We have an annual festival in April for adults, partner with other organizations in November to produce a series of storytelling concerts called Tellabration, and we provide artists in residence in schools.
