CALL FOR PROGRAMS (Deadline September 1, 2014)

If your organization is planning, or has already planned, an event, activity or program related to the topic of work anytime from September to December 2014, we would like to highlight it in the publicity that will be surrounding the exhibit.

Types of Programs Sought

  • Visual Art Exhibitions
  • Lectures
  • Discussions
  • Performances
  • Tours/Walking Tours
  • Region specific “work-related” new programming
  • Current programming with an additional focus on the theme of “work”
  • Films
  • Venues/Organizations to host CT Humanities created programs (For available programs, SECT Overview. Funding Available.)

Suggested themes for programming include: diversity in the workforce, immigration, the creative economy, defense industry and the military, unusual jobs, professions, economic inequality in the workforce, the maritime industry, 21st century workforce, career exploration for students, the human library, art “works,” the agricultural industry, creating new work, public service, life after work, work and play.

The Groton Public Library, in conjunction with the Southeastern CT Cultural Coalition, is reaching out to organizations and businesses to bring a wide variety of work-related programming to our region from September through December, 2014.
